Zaytoon, a Lebanese restaurant in Santa Barbara, is one of the most picturesque places I have eaten at. I have seen this restaurant all over UCSB student’s Instagram, and knew I had to give it a try.
The first time I came here was on a Friday night with a party of 3, and immediately the host said she could not seat us because it was fully committed with reservations. I had no idea it was this popular, so the second time around we did it right. I came here with a party of 5, and made a reservation a week before and it was an amazing experience.
This is an all outdoor dining experience, made for larger parties. They have many round tables outside made for parties of 5+ with fire pits in the middle. For smaller parties, they have tables of 2 off to the side, where you do not get a personal fire pit. The ambiance is quite amazing; all outdoors, twinkly lights, and greenery are all around. It was an amazing setting for my 5 friends to relax and enjoy some good food.
To the good stuff… the food.
Zaytoon is focused on healthy and all-natural ingredients sourced from local farmers market. We started out with a gluten-free hummus and had pita bread to dip in it. It was a great appetizer to share among our group. For my entree, I ordered the Lamb Kebab which was served with rice and a side salad. This entree was huge, and I definitely did not finish it all. This dish was so amazing; flavor with every bite and enough food to try a little bit of everything.
This place is definitely on the pricey side, but I feel with the amount of food you get and the ambiance, it is so worth it. I’m really glad I got to try this place out, as it has been on my bucket list for so long. Thank you Zaytoon for an amazing dining experience!
